Swapping a Euro(kilometer)gauge into a 530i?

I have located an E12 Euro speedometer that has new odometer gears for a reasonable price and wondered if it is a direct swap into a 76 530i without any issues? I installed a 5 spd years ago. That wouldn't affect the speedo would it?

Nope, diff is the one that affects things. In essence it counts the rev's of the output shaft. Of course that assumes the euro came with the same diff ratio.

It should swap directly if I'm not mistaken.

Karl,
If it isn't reading correctly, call Palo Alto Speedometer. Hartmut re calibrated mine when I did the switch. It's not a simple gear change in the speedo head but a re-magnetizing of the speedometer.
If the gear ratio in the diff was the same as yours, no problems.
