I have my underdash wiring apart for an auto to 5-speed switch so I can look, could you be more specific as to what wire you are looking for? The grn/vio wire is part of the engine harness and then runs to a fuse which is wired into the pump IIRC.

i trying to find that wire in the chassis harness just before where it connects the engine harness. i no longer have the engine harness.

The chassis harness and engine harness come together with separate plugs at the combination relay, so that seems like a good place to look.

It's light on pictures, but this FAQ gets close to the subject as there's a slight
difference between late 528i and the 530i at the combo relay.
