Hi!

I have started to replace the input shaft main bearing in my 5 speed Getrag 265/6. But to my great surprise it´s no longer available. Not from BMW or other sources as far as I can see. It´s a very special ,flanged, ball bearing.
BMW OEM 23121209323 or FAG 540691. Is there anyone who know of any alternatives??

This would appear to be it, not sure but it's relatively inexpensive. Rockauto shows a listing but the size doesn't appear to be correct.

It could be an alternative. I have to do some calculations to see if it will fit in the end cover.Just got a hit on a French website where they will be selling an original one. Maybe I have a lucky day.

I bought it via a French buy/sell site. It was a private seller and this was the only bearing available.
But I was in connection with a guy in Belgium that also might help you. He told me he had a few of this particular bearings in his shop. Contact information: derreveaux_maxim@hotmail.com

The OEM number is 23121209323 (it,s actually a Getrag 265/6 gearbox)

Is the snap ring the only special part about it? The basic size seems common enough.

The dimensions are unique and I haven't found any substitutes.

Just for reference, that OEM part number has been superseded to 23 1 21 468 919, and it shows not NLA, but 0 in stock in Germany. I placed an order, but it could be weeks, months, years, or not at all. There's no info saying when it will be available, if ever.

Do you have a dial caliper? Can you measure it?
