Sheepskins

Post by GripGreg »

I just scored a decent set of sheepskins from P-A-P. What's the secret to
cleaning them? A dry cleaners that specializes in leather, or maybe not?
Maybe the good ole washing machine?
BTW, I would prefer Bilstiens. I heard that Konis are a bit stiff for a road machine. But, thanx a heap. Greg

hand / woolite

Post by ole Hank »

I would do a Woolite soak / and gentle hand wash. Line dry. Machines are too harsh ... might destroy sheepskins ...

Thanx Hank
Another guy said the Woolite is a good choice, but, maybe, use a vacum cleaner first; then, I suggested to beat them from behind, gently of course. Kinky, huh? What!? Then he came up with the BIG one. Tie them inside a plastic bag, tightly for a month to sufficate any creepy crawlies! Great suggestion! Waddaya think??
He also said to get a brush. How long do 8, 10 legged varmints last w/o oxygen? Am I being too careful? I have time & leather cleaner/food to put me over.
Thanx for checkin' in,,,,Greg
