Hello All,
Any experience here removing the rear shelf? I need to have it re-carpeted. I would usually probe a bit but am afraid of damaging the brittle grey plastic trunk lining.
Thanks!!

Remove the back seat, it comes out easily. Just be careful of the headliner when you pivot the seat belt hanger out of the way. E28 parts fit and may hold up better, but will still need a redye. Spray upholstery dye works wonders.

Thanks Mike. The seat cushion came out easily enough removing one bolt - how does the seatback come out? I've tried a few firm yanks but no movement.
This guy says he's got a very close match for carpeting and will cut and trim the back shelf material from a template.
