I imagine it is either the trunk gasket (seems to be in good shape)
Or the tail light gasket.
In the experience of this board, which is it?
rust under tail light - causes?

Thats a good question. My guess is eventually we will start printing these parts on 3D printers...
However, I will note you must be referring to the "sealing frame"
63211361521 (left- nla)
63211361522 (right)
These are the gaskets in plain site you can see from outside the car..
The gaskets I am referring to, the one you mentioned between the lens and the chrome trim, is part 63211363934 and seems to be available, and is the same for both sides. I think even if they were not available some homemade solution might do for this gasket, but not for the "sealing frames.."
My main problem right now is some nasty rust (i poked a hole with a pen!) under the tail light fender, and the screws are so rusted onto the chrome trim part that I can't even take that light apart....
Don't let this get out of hand people!!!
Check your bolt around your tail lamps for rust, if there is I recommend taking care of it before it gets worse!!

Ah. Pardon my quick reading... Thank you for the insight.....
You're totally right, in fact, I had a stud snap off on me already.
I'm thinking I will try to find a very flat t-bolt from the hardware aisle, and slip it through from behind the relector, if this doesn't work I'll need to hunt for a new tail lamp.... never ends it seems!
