Water pump bench test

Bolt through type. Redoing engine, pump was working fine. Besides exterior dirty it looks fine. Very very tiny amount of play wiggling front hub, quiet spinning.
I've had the car eight years, 4,000 miles.
So, to use or junk.

Now way of telling without just trying it. My experience has been it's the seal not the bearing that goes, so you can't really test it without using it.

If in question,
for $50.00, and it being 8 years old, and off the car, if it were mine, I'd replace it.

I chose the replacement solution, and the Graf rebuilt for fifty.
Still a small vestige of, " If I knew what I was doing," the existing pump may be just fine. There are rumors, strong advisories around, to pay big money for new OEM parts that are a big pain to replace.
In the end I always wind up picking one (solution), plugging my nose and jumping in.
