Al Larson / Seams Perfect ... info

Post by ole Hank »

I'm looking for information regarding Al Larson of Surrey, BC ... or current location. ( Vancouver ? )He used to run a business called Seams Perfect ( I think I saw him on here from time to time ) ( One contact I know of is Andrew Poon in Surrey, BC. ) Al took payment for a carpet set for my 2002 ( and was working on a quote for my e12 ) ... but never delivered the carpet set ... with several promises and excuses. Come to find out this is standard operating procedure for him. Take your money / no goods. It's called theft. Business is shut down, but all payments sent to him directly, hence his personal liability. Putting together a list of people whom he owes / trying for a class action suit or individual litigation / garnishment / liens / etc. Always hate to see people like this ruin the fun we have with our cars. I'm patient, and will not rest til he is brought to justice. Thanks for all info ... direct or anonymous.

This is not good news.
There was a "buyer seller" sticky in the For Sale / Wanted section that would have been a good place to post this, but it appears to have been unstuck and deleted. :?

"not good news" ... I agree

Post by ole Hank »

Yep ... I agree / not a good habit of taking peoples money with no intention of delivering goods. A refund would be nice ...
Meant to list in " General Discussion" ... my mistake. A few leads coming in ... warrants a trip out to do some field-work / knock on doors / etc.

He was active on Mye28 for a while, but I haven't seen anything in a while. Sorry to hear he/his business dealings haven't been as they should be.

Hi.
I just joined and am reading all I can on here. I don't know that Al guy but every site I join I seem to read about him. It looks like you are not the only one that was not happy with him. I read on a lot of other forums & they just outright banned him.

Sorry to hear you got added to his list but if you have an hour to read there is a bunch of crap on here. This is going on now and on the BMW FAQ forum.
Do a search on the FAQ and it is not pretty.

It's too bad as a lot of folks that did get their stuff say it is good quality.
Sorry for your loss. I hope you can get something worked out or recouped.

He was Al Canuck on MyE28.com. He hasn't been around in a while despite saying he'd keep coming around despite selling his E28. I know he's got a 323i project, so he might show up on an E21 board.

He sold the 323i project a while ago. I think some of the guys over on the e21 section of bimmerforums got screwed over by him too. I've seen a couple of threads about him before.

Old saying, " If someone says it's not about the money, it's the principle of the thing,...it's about the money."

Happened to me once: the body shop artist bozo, cash meets paint fumes trick. Old story, as is the plot line about avoiding being involved by dropping the name in advance, not having to add your chapter at future club meetings.

If it is about the refund, stop now, pretend you put it on red and lost.

Should you be the," Not me you ain't gonna hose," type, then bite his pant leg and don't let go. File the papers in his residence conciliation court. Go when scheduled. Likely he won't. You win. Fill out more papers, go again to tell the court he's not paid. Likely he won't show for that either. Roughly two years after the judge said you won the first time you get to visit the court house and fill out papers saying he still hasn't paid.

They will give you a summons to be delivered by a third party, to him personally. Easy if he's somewhere and not violent, more involved if he's a vapor trail or keeps exotic pets.

Ten days after the summons is delivered they will issue a warrant for his arrest. If he cares more about that then mailing your refund, you'll get one. If his desk and glove box is full of warrants already, refer to the blood, turnip saying while holding on to his pant leg.

And you won't teach him a thing. It's like yelling at a cat.

... yelling at cat

Post by ole Hank »

ohh.. that was too funny.
I'm not worried, but know that he'll irritate the wrong person sooner than he thinks. ( EX : a friend whose daughter in California was ripped off by a similar operation in NY state / one phone call later these two Hell's Angels from NY state show up at the guys shop. She got her refund pronto. NOTE : It's a small world with some long memories.

Enjoyed all the stories and support.
Cheers !!
