trailing arm drive flange collar nut?

This nut is on so tight I can't get it off with an impact gun! ..and yes I bent back the securing plate. :shock:

How high does the compressor's psi go up to? I'm starting to rebuild the rear with new bearings and 150psi pressure was not good enough. I was lucky that there was a 3/4" Impact for commercial truck wheels that I used, but had to mess with the tank so go up to 175-200psi to power the wider hose and bigger gun..

Truth! More pressure means the impact will work better, even if they claim it's based off 90PSI. That's an unlimited 90PSI at the gun with no hose restriction or regulator restriction.

To quote my favorite Greek mathematician, Archimedes, who supposedly said,
Give me a lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I shall move the world.
In other words if you can keep it from turning a big ass cheater is better than an impact. I was a maintenance mechanic at a door factory years ago and we also maintained the semis. We had a full 1" Chicago Pneumatic impact but if it was really tight we'd break out an 8 foot cheater over a 1" drive breaker bar. That worked.

Haha! yeah "franky2fingaz" is what I'm using because "hilux30" got "invalidated" by for some odd reason.. I guess it's staying
I never watched the show, but liked the characters..

But, as far as the nut, you gotta go way up in power. You could take the arms off and see a commercial truck shop might loosen them off for you, but that means unhooking brake lines..
Also as Mike said, better not using an impact especially if there is corrosion on the thread, where the nut might "jump" teeth and mess the flange..

You are better of with a piece of pipe on a breaker bar than an impact. Spray the nut first with Kroil just in case it is rusted on. I popped off the front nut on an old Mercedes that is factory torques to 235 Ft Lbs with what was effectively a 4 foot long bar. Once it pops, you are there. Impacts on these hubs are not a great idea because they can snap. You can control the torque on a bar with finesse vs brute force of an impact.

I have a drilled harmonic that I bolt a piece of pipe to for M30 work. The pipe hits the floor and holds the crank from turning.
