I have a like new fuel tank from a 77 parts car. It is the one that has the filler door on the side fender. My fuel tank has major leaking at the seam and it has the rear fender filler door. I was quoted $800 for tank seam repair and seal and the cost of a new tank is about the same. My intent is to swap the side mount tank into a my car that has a rear fill door. I'm prepared to cut the door flap and surrounding area out of the parts car , fill in the rear flap and do the required bodywork. When I installed the Euro bumpers I removed the oversize turn signals and did the bodywork there and that turned out OK. Can anyone see any other issues I might have to do the swap? It should be basically the same on both tanks except for the filler necks?
