Headlight Switch cleaning/rebuild FAQ?

I assume many go through the woes of the headlight switch either not making a connection when it should, or the dash light dimming not dimming as it should.
I was having a problem with the dimming flickering. I knew it was a dirty connection, so I wanted to pull the switch out and blast it with some cleaner. In the process of doing that, it basically fell apart. I recovered all of the parts, springs, etc, and nothing is broken. But as for putting it back together, hmmmm. Totally possible, but in what order?
I did not see an FAQ for the Headlight switch. Has anyone else tore one of these down before? Pics would be great!
