Pertronix Ignition

I have acquired a 77 530i with a pertronix ignition set up in the distributor. Can I swap that distributor into a 76 530i without any issues by simply pulling it out and dropping it into the 76?
1976 530i. BMW 59 Triumph TR3A(rolling resto). 67 Triumph TR4A(salvageable). 86 900S Winter car

When I was looking into Pertronix a while ago the instructions said they're just 'plug and play' for an existing car, so I don't see why not. No changes to the coil, ballast resistors or anything. But someone who has installed one would know for sure.
