Blocking up rear of car

Which places are the best to use for jack stands or blocks for the rear end ?
Interesting question. Not the rear jack points? Small shade tree, here.

Careful if you're using the rear subframe. Don't forget it is designed for fore and aft loads, not vertical loads.
I use a piece of foot long 4x2 placed under the sill. Spreads the load nicely.

That's what I use to change tires at Autox. I cut a step down one side so the pinch weld would fit. I going to add some magnet latches so I can just stick up there and then grab the jack. Paint it safety orange so I don't drive off with it still stuck on the car.Pete K wrote:Careful if you're using the rear subframe. I got this from a pallet so it's pretty strong and seems unlikely to split.

Good thinking with the paint Pete. My only problem is my whole car is painted safety orange!
I cut slots in the ones I made for the e21 so they fit in nice and tight and won't slip out. Yes, I am a little pedantic.
