Are caliper rebuild kits available at all or do I have to fork out $400 each for new ones? Went to change the pads and have one stuck piston that I had to compress with all my might and still couldnt get it all the way in order to get the pad in. Doubt if it would release at this point. Hope rebuild kits are still available somewhere on the globe.

Thanks for the info. Wonder what the general consensus is regarding quality. Anyone used the Cardone calipers and happy with them?

So I am replacing front calipers with rebuilded calipers from Cardone (about $60 a pop).
My rear calipers had been replaced with Cardone remanufactured and work perfect.
It is my opinion Cardone remanufactures calipers very very well, the tolerances are computer checked and overall they give the confidence needed for spirited driving.

Are your rotors and pads new? I've usually found those to be the problem when one side grabs first.

I think I over did myself and yes changed the front rotors.
And yes all pads are new.

75 and 76 E12 brakes are non-vented. The calipers are identical to 2002tii calipers, except that the left E12 calipers fits the right side of the 2002tii and vice versa. So you can check the usual 2002 parts sources too. Regular non tii 2002s are different.

After reading the following -I've decide to rebuild mine....autopartswarehouse and carpartstogo both deal CARDONE-

My 530i has the brake rotors with the little Allen key that separates the disc from the hub. One hub is badly scored and I'd like to replace it but apparently this type of hub is no longer available. If I switch to the disc that is attached to the hub then I believe I have to order different calipers? And what about wheel nuts and wheel bolt issues?

My mistake ...Bav Auto does carry the discs. Anyone know if the Cardone calipers will fit the solid rotors on my 3/76 530i? Autozone wont ship to Canada and I dont think Autopartsway carries what I'm after?

Autopartsway lists 7 listings for 76 530i brake calipers....Pass side front:A119 227 and Drivers side front:A119 226 These calipers look the the part but I'm wondering if they are for vented rotors or the hub with the rotor attached because the last listing shows Front brake caliper W0133-1663714 Fit Note: Solid rotors but dosn't specify left or right. Went to live chat on their site but they didnt seem very knowledgable either. Dont want to have the wrong calipers shipped. Anyone out there have a 3/76 530i that has replaced their calipers with Cardones and know for a fact if they will mate with the bolt type lug nut hub and separate rotor combo?
