Central locking door system

Need help on my E12 530I - 1978. Part # 51261363596.1.
Took apart: and the spring, sprang , when the two halves were disjoined so I don’t know it’s orientation for reassembly. Have spent hours envisioning correct orientation and I can’t get it. Would appreciate anyone’s help.
