M30 Chain Tensioner

Post by 528i-1981 »

Maximillian has a run of these available. They appear to be backordered or NLA on a couple of sites, so that always makes my ears perk up. Do these things ever break or is stashing one of these overkill? My car has 180K miles on her but I have other uses for my parts kitty.

I've heard of them breaking, but rarely. It's cousin on the other side, the chain guide, is much more fragile and is prone to breakage at high miles.

Thanks Mike. I'll keep my powder dry.

I have even seen M30s continue with a slightly stretched chain.
