Crankshaft Plate Retainer Gasket

Post by REman »

Greetings,

Looking for suggestions for installing this PITA gasket I just took off from the rear of the engine.
There are 6 screws holding this little plate and gasket to the engine, does anyone have any do's and don'ts for preparing what I think is a paper gasket for proper install?

Yes, one of the bolts uses a special washer/seal. I can't insert the image, but open the link and it will show. (it's a no hotlinking thing by the owner of the server)

I also like to use Permatex #3 as an additional sealant on both sides of the gasket.

Hi Mike,

Yes, now that you mention it I did see that washer/seal and it is in the pic with the screws (middle one on the right).

Thanks for the tip!!
