Re: HELP: Water Valve Replacement

I recently replaced my heater control valve and I bought 64111360820. If you go to my project posting in "gallery" you can see my old valve and it has both the part numbers you mention. http://www.firstfives.org/phpBB-3.2.1/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=5482&start=45 This info is towards the last page ...

Re: Suspension Upgrade

Yes, Bilstein said the B6’s are fine with lowering springs. The early ones use a different strut according to the part numbers. I think the porpoising effect is slightly magnified by the seat construction with springs vs. foam but I’ve never driven one with a more modern seat with all foam seat cus...

Re: brushable body color paint

I recently had custom spray paint cans mixed by local auto parts place. They sell Spraymax paint. I used it to repaint the inner fender and new battery tray in the engine bay after careful masking. I have also used Small cans of Rustoleum brushable paint to mix up a color that closely matches my Cha...

Re: Malaga Red E12 for Sale on Bringatrailer......

Just for the record here, that was the same car that was advertised for $20K. The Bat seller bought the Malaga from the original CL seller for approx $10K. He then did a bunch of work to it and then sold it on BAT for $15K. Just thought I'd mention this in case anyone was interested. I followed the ...

[quote=" I could swear I've gotten the old style bolt on fan clutch off without pulling the radiator though. Tight, but doable. Re: difficult or PITA bolts etc - for amusement!

Ya and very true about the light. Its a constant source of irritation when Im working on the car. Between poor light and needing different/ new glasses I'm using the brail mechanics method half the time. :D

Re: difficult or PITA bolts etc - for amusement!

Dave, it would have been harder still with the front seat still in the car. Funny , I just saw these comments. You are so right. I also don't think it would have gone nearly as well if the pedal box and steering column were in there. again not fun I think better than pulling the whole center consol...

Re: Crank position sensor

It may be a transitional car with the e12 body, frame and interior but the series 2 engine with motronic and yes two sensors on the bellhousing for speed and ref. As for the seats I would say no, probably not but anything is possible. I have both e12 and early e24 and seats are shaped quite differen...

Re: Crank position sensor

It should be fairly easy, although like the speed and reference sensors I cn imagine they may get stuck and be a bitch. What car? e12s don't have those

Re: Interior e28 twin light upgrade

Funny I've read this post a few times and thought adding the second light was a good idea. I just went and looked at my car and it already has two lights in the headliner. It also has a nice feature if you play with the switches, you can turn on one or off both lights with the the switch on the driv...

OK Mike, maybe thats why this is always coming up. I didn't know that m20s are T to Y. No experience with that engine

Re: M30B35 cylinder head bolt/Rocker shaft issues

For some reason that misinformation keeps coming up. The m30 headbolts aren't torque to yield. They're reusable. I'm still curious whats the measurement for the shoulder for your aftermarket bolts vs the stock ones? If you don't have stock ones I think I can dig some out

Re: M30B35 cylinder head bolt/Rocker shaft issues

Correction, shim was on rear end of rocker shaft. Eric, this seems weird to me. The rocker shafts are just slid into the head and are kind of floating there until the head bolts lock them into position. Putting a shim on one end or the other wouldn't really be able to change the position that the h...
