I checked the accelerator cables.
Don't know why I'm bothering with this e12 as I have a perfectly good, running e9 in my garage. Was hoping to have this as a daily driver but my confidence has been shaken and I don't have the faith this is a daily driver now.

Starts when I pull the dash instrument cluster
Umm... im starting to lose my mind. The car won't start (no spark) and then I pull the dash instrument cluster out and she starts up and runs. At first it I thought it was a coincidence then put the cluster back in for it not to start again until I pulled it forward or out.

Transistor swap for conventional ignition
The transistor ignition with resistor and ignition control module is a pain in the ass and the older the car gets the more prone to failing.
Anybody bypassed that for the conventional ignition system?

I know they used oetiker clamps or 'stepless ear clamps' on some of the hoses on some of the models.

You can see the rubber boot protruding out of the bottom below the seat of the rear passenger.

Cut wires from passenger compartment ..no idea what is was
When I started repairing the rear brakes I noticed a rubber wiring grommet with a cut wire loom from inside of the passenger compartment going underneath the rear right passenger seat and exiting the vehicle on the rear of the car just ahead of the fuel pump... any clue as to what it was? I checked ...
