CLANCK , differential noise , next task

I am getting this CLANK noise from rear axel ,when releaseing the clutcn, or letting go the gas pedal and acelerating.
If I lift the rear wheels ang grab the driveshaft near the differential it goes about 1/16 of a turn before engaging the axles. It's the only play I can feel on the drive line

I had the exact same problem,in my case was the cold start injector not working due to the sensor that actuates it , this is the one at the thermostat housing.
Try to cranck in the morning when stone cold, with the start injector off the intake and see if you get a squirt of gas.
Remember the engine ...

" I believe it was me who told you that.

My car has functioned this way since I bought it in '82. Every time the the locks are actuated there is a delayed 'click'.

I have no battery drain.

Hey mike sorry I didn't see your post.
I remember grinding or cutting the lip and then prying the body appart with a screw driver,
then i used J&B weld to glue it back on.
Didn't have the chance to try it :(

May be you can squeeze another one from the outside but I dont think so
I had done a new valve in november and I have around 1000 miles without any problem
The old one had the ...

Yes ,I did rebuild mine and is very simple inside.
What keeps the coolant from coming out is 3 o rings in diferent places.
But I didn't put it back , I started to think about how much work was to remove and install, that I bought a new one.
Also if you are going to rebuild it make sure that you use ...

SLOW BATTERY DRAIN

Like other members in this post I have been chasing a slow drain of battery when the car seats for a few days.

This is what I have got so far ...
