An apology in advance, offering recent experience in an attempt to be helpful risking probable further frustration. My e12, e24 tank swap experience, like yours, may be irrelevant to a '77. Strange to ponder as any tank must be installed somehow ? Never to be replaced without major body parts needin...

Repairing side mirrors

The answer to any question concerning repair or disassembly is find, obtain one that works or suits your cosmetic visual standard. I had one in a condition to allow stubborn curiosity to investigate how they come apart, free of the fear of breaking anything. The three holes in the bottom are nothing...

Thank you C.F., it's 20º outside, to probably need advice on something else that falls off before July.

Including my fanny freezing off.

Again, just for someday maybe. What are the odds my two compressors will only need a charge of R134a and work fine ?

For drill, I have never tried either of two a/c's in umpty years. Just assumed fooling around with the r12 recharge monkey business wasn't worth it.

What are the odds the compressors spinning around forever, otherwise neglected, might fire up and work, however one goes about the system re - charge ?

Only your abiding in Milwaukee, maybe not the car for 35 years. The rule is pretty simple, any visible rust is all over, in one way or another. Getting a peek under the carpet / padding without removing the seat(s) is doable but an exercise in folding, lifting, crunching. Removing the lower door kic...

I admit reading your posts waiting for success. That said, the reference to using a non-stock tank, with a," WORM GEAR ? "

Boy am I out in left field.

As the 633 project has no deadline, when a needed part appears the search will be on. After posting my request for member experience with possible sources, not exactly being flooded with replies,... I did some Google Searching and found a BMW site in Atlanta, Pelican Parts, etc. offering at least a ...

Wanting the injectors to inject as long as possible, yes ! Bordering on surreal I think at least one set of mine are original, never cleaned or replaced. I have asked the experts here about adding any injector sauces. Admitting I know nothing about them, suspect most are snake oil,... if that. I hav...

I agree with Mike's exhaust replacement solution as step one. My cars are factory stock systems to not notice much noise. Depending upon your commitment and the car's condition otherwise, don't be surprised to realize removing the seats to remove the carpet, padding, door panels is no afternoon job....

Coincidence,... I just saw one of the resto shows adding sound proofing mat in an interior. It looked like inch thick foam between the silver coverings. The installer made the point they'd bought the stuff at the local home products depot and saved quite a bit of money over the supposedly specialize...

Yes. Accept that BMW never cared about assisting in disassembly to publish detailed instructions.

Make your best guess on removing an old green clip, and see what happens. Adjust the learning process as required.

" Ended" sources for finding parts NLA.

It happens I am in the asylum with a 635, but looking for E12 parts, trim pieces, gaskets, rubber strips fits the question. Do any experienced experts in the clubhouse know of places that sell generic things, aluminum strips of the proper dimensions, etc. as an alternative to no hope, checking Ebay ...

If just a box stock grocery getter that's all apart, my 2¢ is follow the factory adjustment instructions. On line, Haynes, etc.

For fun, pay attention to the wear on the cam lobes. 35 years, depending upon the miles and maintenance, is quite a bit of time for spinning.

Under the tank looking up there are two large bolts going through flat triangular brackets. The lips on the brackets curl down, the longest side parallels the tank. To lower the tank sufficiently to take advantage of the potential space between the top of the tank and the trunk floor, I used a floor...
