HELP with Blower Fan Dial
Mine is frozen. I cannot turn it. Should I try to just squirt some silicone lube in behind it? What do you think is causing it to be so hard to turn the dial? what could be binding it up?

Re: Leather care
these look outstanding! When you use the plastic, always reuse the same bag since there is Leathique already on the inside of the bag it will assist in possibly absorbing more. (thats probably what you did anyway, I'm sure)

Re: Help with Wheel Bearings
I just contacted my local BMW dealer after speaking with Turner about the CD. It is NLA anywhere in the world. Turner's system is different from the dealer system, as Turner rep told me. The non-dealer system has been down for weeks and therefore they have no idea what is available and what is not. ...

Re: Help with Wheel Bearings
I've got several manuals and none of them list that volume. For future reference something that may be of interest is the factory manual online. Do note the nominal values and specifications tab, it's easy to focus on the model and miss it. https://www.bmwtechinfo.com/repair/main/index.htm Thanks a...

Re: Help with Wheel Bearings
Yes, I most surely did, and I am still working on it, a bit ashamed to admit. But I decided to tear it all out including the exhaust and put all new stock BMW parts in... as best I can find them. Also, I later discovered that you torque the castle nut to 24 ft lbs before backing it off so the races ...

Re: Leather care
Sorry for the late post... but the color of your leather is called "Clarette Red", but dont hold me to the spelling. Also, I swear by the plastic bag thing. It is the only way to go but tht means you are not able to drive your car for quite awhile. Th longer you leave it up there the bette...

81' 528i: What is best grease to use when replacing and packing? And How much grease do you put in hub? How much in cap? I have #2 EP Lithium with a NLGI grade of 2. Is this OK to use? DANG!! i have been looking for an exact match to my 81 OE. i had no idea that this would be the replacement, even though BMW said so. I was sure it was wrong given the so many differences and not ever thinking that the nipple cap was INTENDED to be cut off for the manual applications. Thanks so very...

What you ask is a very good question. My NEW unit's nipple DOES exit on an angle, but from the forward chamber of the reservoir, whereas my ORIGINAL unit has a straight nipple editing out the rear chamber. Also, the nipple on the NEW unit is capped. If I cut off the cap as did you, not sure there is...

Well. Thanks a lot for confirming what I thought I knew all along. I've contacted BMW NA and they are going to go to ATE to crosscheck the ATE part numbers cast into the top and bottom of the rez) two separate numbers as Im sure you probably know). I just hope they can get to the bottom of this. Its...
