81 528i Photos Needed
I am trying to replace my old brake fluid rez on my 81 528i. The part that I ordered from BMW (3432 115 1729) does not match up to the one on my car. This is the superseded number from 3432 112 0386. I would like to see images of the installed rez on any 81 528i so I can see if Im the only guy out h...

Amsoil Motor Oil
Looking to see if any of you have experience with this stuff. I thought I would check with you all first as I understand it is the only oil that has zinc in it. I guess Rotella took out their zinc a few years back. Any thoughts? I am currently using 15/50 Mobil 1 Fully Synthetic on my 170K mile 81 5...

Thanks so much for the guidance. I had read the FAQ but I suppose was just looking for someone to second the motion, as they say. And thanks also for guidance on the grease. I am using an NLGI Grade 2 Lithium which is good for high temp. Also, I did replace everything. It started out as a simple bre...

leather restore.. The only way to go
Just my opinion but using Leatherique is the ticket. But if you don't have the time to do it right, then Leatherique doesn't have the time to work. You MUST, in opinion, (and as was recommended to me by the folks at Leatherique, remove the seats and apply the product liberally before placing the sea...

Help with Front Bearing INSTALL
I tore my bearings out of my 81 528i about 2 years ago. Now I cant seem to recall how to put it back together. Really I only have one question. When i install the inner bearing, there is a lot of space between the bearing itself and the end cap. Do I fill that all full of grease to fill the void? an...

I contacted mobil and they told me that the oil was no good anymore that it should not sit on my she...

I wrote an FAQ some years ago entitled headliner repair. If you are interested in replacing your headliner you may wish to view that post. I wish I had replaced the foam at the C pillar because the foam and/or the glue when combined with the Sun and heat create that brown stain the two cars were so ...
