Front valence removal

Post by chris hamman »

I pulled the front bumper, removed two exterior sheetmetal nuts two on each side then 13 smaller sheetmetal screws in the front of the valence. (7 low, 6 high) It is still holding tight but I cant see where it might still be attached. Does someone know the locations or sequence of removing the rest of the attachements? I intend to strip, weld up holes then repaint before reattachment.

No he's talking about the lower valence I assume. Aside from the tabs and screws the front is also seam sealed to the upper valence.

For a cludite, would that require a torch, sawzall, or a seam unsealer get apart puller ?

I've done it, but it was a long time ago, mid 90's or so. There might have been a couple of small welds at the corners, but IIRC the bead of caulk was the toughest part. Just got to cut it away with a utility knife and hope you have a steady hand recaulking it.
