If it's an item of interest: turned the throttle body switch plate almost max toward the idle switch. Inviting the possibility the drat thing doesn't click off, or if it does it's just barely doing so.
That improved the throttle on/off bouncing to near zero.
Without all the messing about, turned the distributor slightly more advanced. That helped the throttle response, accelerating clean, to good. All I can think of is I'm not very good at 2200 RPM, putting the ball on the arrow.
One aside: The rubber tube from the cold start valve to the aux air likes to slide off the aux air valve. Valve cover mounted style has a tapered hose fitting. Noticed it off while adjusting the switch plate, not sure if it did it then or was off before.
If it is not connected, what happens ?
