B35/L-Jet conversion

Hi All,

I am getting ready to do a B35/Motronic conversion on my carbed Bavaria. I plan on using the L-jet manifold due to space constraints and use the 1.3 harness and fuel rail, but will clean up any unused ports, etc.

Since all of you are L-jet gurus by now, I was wondering if you could share some advice? use the 1.3 harness, but will clean up any unused ports, etc.

There is an early L-jet manifold from a 530 in perfect condition in the yard. How different are these from the later L-jet manifolds other than the fuel rail?

If I go with the early, will I need to switch throttle bodies due to the mounting of the TPS?

Are there any alternatives to La Jolla’s (what I consider somewhat pricey) injector adaptor clips?

I figured this should go in tech-talk, since it is technically speaking of issues that would also pertain to an e12. Please accept my apologies if this is not okay.

Thanks in advance for any help for this old Bavaria.

Well for the harness you are going to need all connectors maybe without the purge valve for the. mainfold for the 530 has connections for the egr while the later ones dont have them i would try to use one out of a e12 528 for the conversion. For the tps use the one that comes with the harness and have to seal the the idle screw on the throttle body. Now for mounting the motronic injectors to the L-jet rail with out the cup from la holla , this is what i came up with after I called la holla and found out how much they wanted for the cups, couple of hrs later this is what i did. I cut a portion on the plastic from the injectors and grind edges very little and see it mounts just like the L-jet The pics tell you every thing. hope this helps

Nice work! Very creative (and cheap) solution. The $64k question: how does it work?

Getting back to the manifold, besides the fuel rail and EGR ports (which can be plugged) is there much difference in new vs. old manifolds?
