Cam chain replacement

Post by Pete K »

I'm rebuilding my M10 for my track motor and just wondering what needs to be replaced in the cam chain department?
Chain? Sprocket? Tensioner? Guide? Piston?

Cheers

Well, chain obviously, guide for sure, they get old and brittle and like to crack and break, tensioner probably, sprockets if you feel like really doing a good job and spending money and taking the time to get the crank sprocket pressed off. I usually do chain and guide, maybe the tensioner if it doesn't look good. Worn sprockets won't cause a failure, but might affect timing a tiny bit.
