Ignition Coil problems

Dear all,

First I want to thank for the acceptence on this board.
I'm having issues with my E24 with a E12 based 2.8i engine L-jetronic.
I guess the engine is from 78 or 79.

I worked very hard lately to get it running howhever I'm still failing after a year of hard work on this car.
I've got a issue with (I think) my ignition coil.
Car cranks but doesn't provide a spark.
Facts I measured (ignition switched on) updated 6 Oct. 2015:

- 12v+ on the black wire running van the ECU to tachometer
- 2x 12v+ on the negative and positive points of my ignition coil

- Ignition Module; green wire (nr. 7) variable voltage
- Ignition Module; green wires (nr. 15) steady 12v+
- Ignition Module; Terminal 31d is not connected
- Ignition Module; black wires (nr. 16) steady 12v+

I measured the little resistor (the white block) and I noticed the green wire got a variable voltage so that must be connect to terminal 7 of the Ignition module.

I also noticed that it ain't getting hot.
Read somewhere it should to provide some extra energy to the coil for starting.

This is what I measured so far.
I ain't figured it out what the problem is.
In a other post I'll introduce my project.

Looks a bit dodgy but the wiring is fine.

I slightly adjusted above post with new findings and information...
It's really annoying the fact I'm so close to start the engine but yet so far away....

Dear all,

Cause I don't like unsolved cases I've bought myself an extra E12 2.8i engine complete with wiring and parts. Turns out I miss one cable.
Now I need to convert the plug and it should be ok.

This wiring harness is in perfect shape so I'm gonna switch it with my current one. :D

Also look for another igniter. They do fail sometimes, and this is what happens when they fail.

Was this resolved? And if so.. how did you resolve it?
