The fastener kind. Including the Phillips head bolts, that happen to hold the idle, wot switches to the throttle body.

Is there a chance any local hardware or auto parts store will have them ? Two tries came up 2mm short. 8mm. no 6mm.

And, are metric fasteners the same as U.S. threads, as in coarse and fine ? For some reason my digging through the drawers of washers, bolts, nuts I have kept from the junkers keeps encountering nuts that don't want to thread nicely on bolts no matter how much turning and visually comparing.

Coarse, medium and fine might explain it.

Metric fasteners are much more common than they used to be, so a trip to the local auto parts or hardware store might be productive.

Coarse/fine? Yes it does exist in metric also, but I've really only run across it in the larger sizes, 8MM fine on the clamp bolts for the tierods, rarely in 10MM, but at 12 it can get crazy, I think I've got 3 different 12MM taps for different thread pitches. Realoem says it's a 3MM, which should be available and realistically in just one common size.

Mcmaster Carr is a great resource for such items.

But if you want to figure out what thread or pitch something is, it is helpful to have a gauge on hand.

A metric caliper will tell you the diameter.
