Similarity....77 530i Auto transmission and .....

one from an 85 735i. Anyone know if the 77 would bolt up to the 735i?
Two different trannys, although related. 3HP22 and 4HP22, the first number being the number of speeds.
It would bolt up to the engine, but the car wouldn't run because it would be missing the flywheel sensors and the early bellhousing isn't machined or even cast for them, and the driveshaft would be several inches too short. There's more, but that's for starters.
