Hood Cable Snapped

Post by REman »

Hello,

Went to release the hood yesterday and it just snapped at the release handle. At first I panicked but realized there was still cable showing and could still open it with vise grips.
Wondering if someone might have a fix or if any advise on replacing the whole cable aka Bowden cable as referred in RealOEM catalog link (#8 in diagram)?

I have replaced that cable. It's a pretty straight forward procedure ' You just have to make sure you get all the little pieces in the right places and don't kink the cable. Looking at the diagram it would seem that part 8 is separate from part 9 but I don' recall how they were fastened together?
