clutch or fuel ... that is the question ...
OK .... various symptoms/ one cause ? multiple causes ?
* shake / vibration in 1st and 2nd. Sometimes it takes a few attempts to
get a smooth start
* clutch replaced about a year ago / flywheel resurfaced too
* slight fuel smell ( all fuel lines replaced - front and rear )
* bad gas mileage ... 12 ...

Oil pressure idiot light flickers at idle ... , then off at higher rpm. Checked oil ... slight foaming or bubbles present on dipstick ( not over-filled ) Line of attack ?

Radiator sensors / lower / difference ?
OK ... forgot to mark these clearly when I took my radiator out for replacement. ( 1980 528i / manual )
There are two threaded holes in lower radiator ... one on elbow / one on tank.
I have two threaded sensors :
One with small electrical spades. Marked : 87 / 82 A15L FAE 36050
One with large ...

shroud will find it's rightful place next to it's new next-door neighbor ( a custom all aluminum radiator from Ron Davis )
Love the idea of carbon fiber or kevlar ... not for weight, but structural
integrity ....

Basic question .... is shroud absolutely required ? ( Have a new custom aluminum radiator ... easier fit without ) I know in principle they help direct air over cooling surface, just curious as to opinions ... experiences, etc. Thanks for excellent forum.

Ron Davis aluminum radiator ...
... or if you want really cool / contact Ron Davis radiators .... had them make an all aluminum one for me. Not cheap, but I don't even begin to worry about overheating. Do it once. Do it right.

redline MT - 90 / new BMW drain & fill
... hmmmm / interesting line of discussion. I'm about to try some Redline MT-90 / 75-90W ... ( somewhat heavier than MTL ) Will let you know how it pans out. Also putting new drain / fill plugs from BMW ( not allen type , but 'raised hex' ... even magnet in drain for floating debris )
