1. I noticed the harness has a connector that connects to the combo relay.
Do I need to swap this if I am NOT converting to Lambda?
If I do, which side?
What do I do with the old connector, just let it hang out?
2. I noticed on my car there is a separate wire that goes from the starter, to the alternator and battery. On the 528i, its incorporated with the harness.
Does it make a difference which way I go?
3. Last, there is a blue wire that goes on the alternator (i.e "generator" light.)
Does anybody know WHERE on the alternator this fits?
I have just a bare wire- is it a spade connector?

Okay... I hooked up the wires, new coil, ICU, Resistors.. But I'm getting no spark.
I still don't know what to do with the 528i connector to the combo relay.
On my 530i it is part of the other harness.. Do I just fuse the wires together?
ALSO I noticed there is no input for the coolant temperature sensor.
How will my car know how rich to make the mixture if its not connected to this sensor??? Seems on 528i wiring diagram it goes straight into the ECU.
Please help!! Any other things I need to look out for in this conversion...
please let me know

Okay, this is what I realize, but obviously I'm missing something
{I hope all these posts are not "too much"}
Basically the engine connector compared bw 530i and 528i
530i
1. starter voltage
2. -
3. blue wire to alternator
4. ignition voltage
5. tach to - side of coil
6. temp gauge
7. oil pressure switch
8. temp sensor
528i
1. starter voltage
2. "ignition voltage, fuse 1, to combo"
3. blue wire to alternator
4. ignition voltage
5. tach - side of coil
6. temp guage
7. oil pressure switch
8. "input power combo relay, fused."
It seems my issues have to do with the #2 and #8 connector.
I figure that I need to connect my temp sensor wire to #8 on the connector again, and figure out whats going on with #2 and #8.
If anybody has went through this, and knows of a simple and elegant solution, you know the drill...
Thank you

OKAY PEOPLE!!!
I am sorry for being so self indulgent here.
I did get my car started, and its running much nicer with the 528i ignition system.
Turns out I had not connected a ground wire.
If I had a time machine I'd go back and tell myself:
Regarding #2 and #8 wire to the plug, and the combo relay socket on the 528i harness- just leave them hanging out, they aren't needed.
Thanks everybody!
