what is the torque spec for the injectors?
changing injectors since the old 1's hoses are cracked. how much ft/lbs i need for the 2 x 10mm nuts that hold down the injectors. thanks!
They are going into aluminum. No written spec that I've seen but the bolts from upper to lower timing covers are the same size, into aluminum, and they are 6.5 to 8 ft. pounds. Or, as Mike W. says, " Snug plus an eighth turn." I.e., just tight.
Use BMW fuel line. If yours still has the end caps on each line, carefully cut under them to NOT cut the barbed tube ends, but enough to be able to work the old line off. Tough stuff. X-acto or Peter uses a wood burning tool.
Put the flanges on the injectors before you push the assembly on the fuel line. I.e., pay attention to how things go together. The new fuel line will fit tight ( put a little dab of dish soap on the barbed ends ) using only the factory cap ends. No hose clamps needed.
For exploded parts view: realoem.com. Finally, if those lines are crunchy, check all of them. Fuel squirting is not o.k. anywhere
