Bav auto camber plates

I'm looking into replacing/rebuilding my front suspension and looked into new strut mounts and was shocked at how much they have gone up. Anyone tried the bavauto camber plates? Are they a straight swap?

Are you referring to the guide support, three bolt bearing assembly at the top of the strut in the shock tower ? $137.00 each, realoem factory, before searching aftermarket and Ebay.

Unsolicited, and because I just did it, (see recent rust *%#! posts), even after 14 years in salt slush the upper bearings cleaned up very nicely. As did the struts, springs, everything else suspension related. If you're into Tasmanian rust dust, grinding, sanding, cleaning and painting...to save $$ on buying new.

If budget is a factor, camber plates can only be a deposit on the hot rod fantasy of coil overs, fat stabilizer bars, strut tower braces, Teflon bushings,...knowing the rear camber isn't adjustable ? On a four door grocery getter ?

Step one: pull the struts, try cleaning the upper strut support bearings.

Seems like they have always been expensive, but list at $190. I do agree though on rehabbing them, on my E28 they were horrible when I got the car, grinding, squeaking, not smooth at all. I removed them, cleaned the rust out, regreased and they were fine 155K later when I sold the car.
