Euro bumper fitment?

Post by canada karl »

Does anyone know or have a pic of how close to the body the rear bumper is at the end where it stops at the rear wheel well ? I think the bumper I installed may have been damaged at some point because the gap there seems too much and I'm thinking the bumper should be almost flush with the body or around 1/2"???

It should be pretty close. It should look naturally close, chances are if it looks odd then it is. Best photo I have right now, I can snap a better one later.

Rear bumper

Thanks Jody. Going by your pic the bumper on my car at that location is way out. Do you remember a hard rubber or plastic spacer that goes on the hold down bolt there? Maybe I can cut that down and draw the bumper closer to the body. I should have checked before the install as I would have had a better chance of bending the bumper in when it was off the car.

This should be a good diagram of the parts to mount for the bumper

I think you are askng about the rubber washer - which appears NLA. I got a pair not too long ago though

I bought new brackets to be sure I was starting with good ones:
02 Bracket 2 51121817069 $16.11

I sourced both of these sets of parts from my local dealership.
