Ignition Key Cap

Post by GripGreg »

What's the easiest way to pop off the cap with the flat top that surronds the key? Just pry carefully is my first guess. It's the little things, ya know?
Thanx,,,,Greg

If you mean the surround plastic on the column ( not on the key ), mine has fallen off by itself. Just little plastic tabs, like arrowheads, that hold it in.

Ignition Key Cap

Is your name Ted, or am I confusing things with Ted Danson? Easy for me to do now a days. I know, you told me once.
Anyway, I decided to see what the dealer charged for the cap. When I got up off the floor, I bought one for $1.04!! Finally, somethin' for a buck!
Lemme know if your local dealer is priced the same. If not, I can easily mail one to you through regular mail, it's so tinachii.
Oh, it had to be ordered; go figure.
Glad you got things in order again. Greg

Tom.

Don't need one (cap) yet, mine has only popped off not run away to join the circus. Thanks for asking.

I lived in Long Beach in 1980, same time I saw a 528i and thought it was amazing. Only problem was the 20 grand.

Back then Chris Pook had only been running the Grand Prix for four years. It was Formula One then, and heaven, as I had full photo credentials and only had to walk down a hill to get there.

Over the years I sat next to George Harrison on the hot pit wall, talked to Mario, Ricardo Patrese, Roberto Guerrero, Paul Newman, Michael Andretti, Pete Lyons ( writer ), blah, blah, all really nice people besides famous.

The funny part is down town was a dump. Amusement park, xxx movie theaters and laundermats for sailors. I think it has changed.
