Picture of Intake Manifold Hoses and connections 76 530i

Post by canada karl »

Does anyone have a good picture or link of the fuel injection rail and hose connections of the intake manifold and plumbing or better yet a good pic of that part of the engine area? I thought I had marked everything on disassembly but apparently not and the manual and realoem don't seem to give a clear view of the area. CK

I have a lot of photos of this on my 1977 530i, but am not sure if they are the same. Does your car have the thermo reactor egr system?

No I removed the thermo reactors years ago as I learned from this board that they contributed to the heat issues that cracked heads on our cars? Are you still running yours? Just a shot of the right side of the engine showing the rail and hose connections would be good. CK

Mine are '79, '81. If reviewing Car of the month engine photos doesn't see what you need to, post again if a custom photo shoot has to happen.

e12 parts on ebay has blue vacuum line photo for routing.

fuel injector gasket material?

Post by canada karl »

Blaise Where did you get the gasket material for the injectors. The stock gasket stuff looks a lot stiffer than the regular gasket material.

You mean the blue stuff that I made? That was gasket material that I bought at the local autoparts store. I am not sure if that was even necessary, but it looks good and I am reusing them for my 3.5L.
