79 528i starting problem

Post by richn123 »

I'm still having starting problems. I have spark, I have fuel pressure and volume, The fuel injection plug pulses.
Car will try to start with the gas from cold start injector and immediate die. I use the service port to turn the starter with the ignition on. plugs are dry.

can all 6 injectors stick closed at the same time? any advice?

For faster possible solutions you can Google search past entries here. Look on the home page under resources.

Or scroll down recent posts. No start solutions are frequently posted.

Disconnecting the cold start valve should squirt fuel in a container. Ignition on, holding the air fuel meter door open lets you hear the fuel pumps working.

Just for fun, there's an aluminum box bolted to the inner fender by the air cleaner, coil. If that's bad you'll see a spark, but not powerful enough to fire the engine.

In the end it's all patiently going through the FAQ's, to set, clean, check things until it starts. Beginning with a full tank of clean fuel.
