Best price for a heater valve???

Any idea where to find a heater valve 64 11 1 359 634 for less then $140? I seem to recall that I was able to buy one for less then $70 before, guess times have changed.

Or maybe somebody has a new one laying around, just waiting to be used? Let me know,

just got mine replaced , got it from Maximillian Imports
After shopping around was the best price, around $130
Had to wait a week or so, came from germany

That appears to be the best price I have found so far...
Any problems with the new valve? There have been some reports on Bigcoupe.com about catastrophic failure: http://bigcoupe.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2095&
There were also a few suggestion using a E21 valve as replacement, have not been able to come up with a correct part number for that one.

I haven't tried to make an E21 valve work, but they are similiar, except IIRC they only rotate 180, not 270. I don't know if it's a deal killer or not. The valve is found on the early ones, at least thru 78, maybe later, but I'm not sure, there was a change somwhere along the line to one completely different, but like I said the early one is very similiar.

All ok with the new valve so far.
I noticed that it is a little diferent than the original
It is design to come appart, so I guess that it can be serviced,the lips of the two body pieces are held by clips insted of glued toghether, so 20 years from now I'll be replacing the o rings in it :D

OK, looks like I was dealing with a few separate problems...

After cycling the heater valve a few times, the leakage went away. I wrapped some paper towels around the area and after almost 3000 miles they are completely undisturbed and dry.
Some people report failure of the newer style valve, which is held together with clips instead of being glued, but it appears that this are more isolated cases then the norm.

The change from Mobile Tradition to BMW Classic appears to have had a major impact on pricing, the rational appears to be to make the support of older vehicle profitable instead of just taking pride in supporting them.

It appears that when I installed the new M90, I reversed inlet and outlet on the heater core. The hoses fit better with the coolant flow reversed, but the valve does not close all the way or gets pushed open. I have not had the time to test this theory, but several sources describe the same situation.

The E21 valve looks like it would physically fit and would probably work for non-A/C cars due to the more limited range of swing.

Cheapest source for the valve, which looks like the older, glued style, I found is on EBay, unfortunately shipper claims to ship out of Beirut, Lebanon, not sure of the reputation of the seller: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-633- ... ccessories
