Computer Exchange

Post by GripGreg »

Me again! What's the safe way to change the computer in the glovebox, other than disconnecting the battery? I think someone told me to step on the brake after the disconnect? I also have a bog issue with my '81. After that, I'll clean up the throttle body. Thanx Peter.
I went into the afm & tightened the wheel 3 notches. Then I held a white paper towel close to the tailpipe. This time I saw zero black stuff on the towel after 60 seconds. Does that mean I'm not running rich anymore?
This is for you, Lars. Yes, the engine was running, so there! (smartie pants) Chuckle, chuckle. You too, Sherman; I can smell your brain turning over from Long Beach. Greg

Hi greg
Box is totally dumb and get's no power when key is off.

I don't even disconnect battery but it's not a bad habit to get into in case something sticks.

Just swap and drive!
