Bosal Catalytic Converter fit or no fit

I just bought a cat conv on the net from car part kings. (285.00 w free shipping). If I want to return it I can take to Advance Auto Parts. Interesting huh? But my question is about fit. Seems to be short on the tubes out the back by about 1-2 inches. Dummy me threw out my old one and now I can't compare new to old. I am attaching to BMW factory middle muffler/ resonator. How close in a match should I expect Bosal to be? Resonator is welded to rear muffler pipes so no room to play compounds the matter. Thoughts?..
