Question: Need a Rear Muffler Source

I'm trying to find a rear muffler for my 81 528i, with 5 speed manual. Does anyone have a reliable source for a direct bolt on muffler. I've been all over EBAY, Google, etc. I haven't had any luck. When I call or reach out, the part is NLA.
I'm hoping someone here on the site has one that they never got around to installing, or a barely used version that will bolt right on the car. Prices online are all over the place, and my head is spinning. I live in the Houston. TX area. Any suggestions. Thanks in advance!

They're still available new from BMW. Not cheap, but if you want original... Billy Boat makes an exhaust system for early e24s that fits. SuperSprint makes one specific to the e12. Either system will run about $1k plus installation. There's just not enough of these cars on the road for the aftermarket to supply an OEM style part.

I have seen an e12 with a Cherry Bomb muffler on the back. They are real cheap. Can get one from Summit Racing.

Yes I am going to need to start looking for a new muffler this spring for my 1980 528i also. I will likely just buy the BMW supplied one since as mentioned there are not many alternatives anymore.
