Throttle body microswitches

Post by T.Hanson »

Some were covered. If covered how is the cover removed to allow the unit to be removed from the shaft ?

Using the plug from the harness, if it fits the unit, are they interchangeable ?

The covered switch mounts by ears, then just pulls off the shaft. I believe all E12 switch assemblies are the same, but E28 might be close enough to fit on, and at least some of them rotate and switch in the opposite direction. Get any E12 switch and it'll be ok. FWIW, 530s used the single switch assembly and 528s used the separate switches.

The Bosch TPS for manual trans cars from any '80s e24/28/23 will work as a direct replacement. The idle and WOT are interchangeable, so any opposite direction concerns are a non-issue. Harness connection is the same.
